About Trent Perez

Trent Perez, civil engineer, entrepreneur, US Army veteran, and former Pearland City Councilmember is the conservative choice in the race to succeed Ed Thompson as the next State Representative for District 29. With a strong background in engineering and a deep commitment to the people of Brazoria County, Perez has been an instrumental figure in driving progress and positive change in the region.

Perez has always put service first. From high school he served the nation in the US Army. He went on to earn a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Houston, work his way to pay for his education. Later serving as an assistant city engineer for the City of Pearland, where he successfully managed and supervised the development of numerous projects across the city.

Afterward, he transitioned back into private consulting. Utilizing his 24 years of experience, he founded PRD Land Development Services, LLC, a firm specializing in civil engineering design for both public and private clients.

Perez’s commitment to public service continued with his election to the Pearland City Council, where he served two full three-year terms, including one term as Mayor Pro Tem. His time on the council was marked by a historic track record of accomplishments, including the enhanced ethical standards, new roadway and drainage projects, the addition new fire stations, and a neighborhood library.

Trent met his wife Tally during the Hurricane Rita evacuation and have been happily married for over 16 years, raising three wonderful children, Parker (15), Rory (14), and Dani (13). The Perez family is actively involved in Memorial 1 Lutheran Church, where Tally’s mother serves as the Senior Pastor.

In addition to his professional and political commitments, Trent Perez is a steadfast volunteer and supporter of numerous Brazoria County organizations, including the Pearland Chamber of Commerce, Alvin/Manvel Chamber of Commerce, the Pearland Lions Club, Kidz Harbour, Pearland ISD Educational Foundation, Alvin ISD Educational Foundation, ActionS, Inc. of Brazoria County, Alvin Community College Foundation, Northern Brazoria County Educational Alliance, the Neighborhood Center, the YMCA, and Keep Pearland Beautiful. His contributions to these organizations have left a lasting impact on the community.
